LAXATIVE USE CONNECTED TO INCREASED DEMENTIA RISK

Constipation and slow transit through our colon has been linked to many disorders throughout our body and complications are even more prevalent. Modern medicine has given us help in overcoming such complications. Most of us rely on daily over the counter laxatives to help gain needed relief. But do we realize consequences associated with such use. We do know that dependence is a known side effect, but other issues do exist. Regular use of over-the-counter laxatives has been linked to a significantly increased risk of dementia especially among those who use multiple types of laxatives.
